About
John Arthur Lomax
Singer / Songwriter
I’m a songwriter, guitarist, and storyteller — and Self Creating Path is the album I didn’t know I’d been writing all my life. To my surprise, The Bend in the River followed not long after.
For decades I’ve explored the intersections of creativity, healing, and meaning — through words, music, and reflection. My songs often begin as poems or journal pages, written in the quiet hours of the morning. Over time, melodies find them, and they grow into something that feels like truth.
My music leans toward the acoustic — grounded in the simple beauty of guitar, voice, and honest feeling. I write about the way life shapes us, about learning to forgive, about the love that endures when everything else changes.
I’ve worked in technology, raised a family, and lived through loss. Now, in this later chapter of life, I find myself returning to music as both compass and companion. Each song is another step along the path that creates itself.
Thank you for listening. I hope these songs meet you somewhere familiar — where reflection turns to peace, and the heart begins to sing again.

A Note from John
Self Creating Path and The Bend in the River are a collection of songs I wrote — every lyric, every melody, every story is mine.
To bring these songs into the world, I used AI-assisted tools for the musical arrangements, instrumentation, mixing, and vocals. I guided every creative choice — phrasing, emotion, tone, dynamics — but the actual vocal performances and instrumental tracks were generated using these new technologies.
For an independent artist, recording a full studio album with session musicians and engineers can cost tens of thousands of dollars. Using AI allowed me to realize the music affordably — for about twenty dollars — while staying true to my artistic vision.
My intent isn’t to replace musicians or singers, but to make my songs audible, to give them a life in sound that otherwise might never have reached you.
